MONO THREADS

The Non-Surgical Option to a Face or Neck Lift

Mono or Short threads are small, smooth, non-permanent polydioxanone (PDO) threads that are inserted into the skin in a walk-in, walk-out procedure with minimal downtime.

The procedure involves a number of small threads being inserted in the area of treatment via tiny introducing needles. The needles are then removed and the tiny threads are left behind to create a supportive scaffolding to lift or tighten the skin.

You cannot feel the threads in your skin, bruising and down time is minimal.

These threads produce collagen, which is present in our skin from birth but decrease over a life-time. This collagen thickens and tightens the skin where the threads are placed, improving skin texture and turgor, and improving fine lines and wrinkles in the area in which the threads are placed.

As the PDO threads break down over time, new collagen and elastin is formed.

These results usually lasts 18 months, and can be repeated as often as you wish.

You can continue to have other treatments after inserting threads and they can even be an effective treatment in combination with other anti-ageing and cosmetic treatments for the best results for your specific needs.

The areas that are usually treated in this procedure are: jowls, marionette lines, accordion lines, upper neck lines, chin tightening and the mid face region.

Results are usually seen at approximately 8 weeks.

WHAT ARE MINT THREADS?

Mint threads provide an improvement of fine lines and wrinkles by gradually stimulating natural collagen production.

There are three different types of Mint Threads:

  1. Mint Mono Threads: Mint Mono Threads are a type of single PDO filament which are smooth and made without barbs. They are inserted into the skin in a mesh-like pattern, producing a tightening effect. While Mint Mono Threads tighten the skin, they provide no lifting effect.

  2. Mint Double Screw Threads: Mint Screw Threads feature a double thread screw, consisting of 1-2 intertwined threads, which provide volume to the area being treated.

  3. Mint Long Threads: These are the longest threads available and are inserted by an expert doctor in the field of cosmetic medicine. Long threads are barbed and  inserted deeper into the skin to provide a greater lifting effect creating more dramatic results than Mono or screw threads

What happens during a Mint PDO Thread Treatment?

Topical anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area. The PDO Threads are inserted using a micro-needle or a cannula. There is no incision and subsequently, no stitches required.

Treatments sessions typically take between 30 to 60 minutes. The procedure must also be provided by a medical professional who has been fully trained.

The Mint PDO threads can be used to treat the following areas:

  • Upper and lower cheeks

  • Forehead and brows

  • Neck and jawline

  • Nose to mouth lines

  • Marionette lines

  • Arms

  • Buttocks

  • Abdomen
